Comparing Roofing and Cladding Quotations
<< Prices or Quality?
It recently occurred to me after speaking to a client that when pricing jobs i have been quoting against inferior specifications and due to client’s lack of knowledge in the roofing and cladding field they were unaware of what they were getting. I usually as why I was chosen to do the job and price is something that comes back time and time again. On this occasions, because of the nature of the job, it was pointed out that i got the job because of my approach and the knowledge I showed over my competitors.
Going into the conversation it soon came apparent that that my ideas were of a higher quality design as well as materials used. Given that our finishing of buildings is second to no-one it now makes me wonder what my approach should be in future.
Q; Should I price using the cheapest materials or best?
A; Good materials from reputable manufacturers should be used at all times.
Q; What if my price is too high?
A; If my price is too high and the client would still like to use our services we will only then offer alternative suppliers with good advice.
Q; Could we cut our labour costs?
A; Only the best labour, who can produce high quality work will be fixing for us, as a result their costs may be a little higher, however the client benefits through a better quality job and a building that will have a longer lifespan.
Q; Should we skimp on Health and Safety?
A; No- it’s illegal.
At the end of the day you get what you pay for from us, you pay for the materials directly, we order them for you and we pass on the costs of health and safety. We supply the labour and knowledge which will make sure you get a high quality building without fuss.
If we aren’t the cheapest then our competitor will be using something much more inferior.. I’ve seen some real bodge jobs in my time..
