Pricing & Estimates
So you just want a price?
What is a price if you don’t understand the content or service you require? What is a price if you are unfamiliar with materials? What is a price if you don’t understand the standards, risks and responsibilities? How can a price tell you if the company has a good reputation or if materials unfit for purpose are part of that price?
We run a very lean ship here and I could say right now WE CAN MATCH ANY PRICE QUOTED, however if it takes using inferior products, cheap labour or taking risks we would graciously decline if that was the only way to match the lowest prices.
We like a bit of good old fashioned communication, meeting the client and assessing their needs, hopefully winning the clients trust enough to be a real contender for the contract if we can get the price competitive. At the end of the job we like to hand it over, knowing full well we have delivered a product and service the client would recommend us to others for.
What we can guarantee is the high quality & high standards that CANNOT BE BETTERED by other companies.
Estimating Costs
Defining the costs of building work doesn’t have to be a long process. There are two types of estimates given, those that have already been surveyed and drawn up (usually through a builder) and those where the client is still at the enquiry stage.
The latter offers more opportunities by looking at the job as a blank canvas, this ensures the job can be tackled according to the many varieties of materials we have available to us. This results in the project being done in the best manner, with the best products to achieve it.
Once the first site meeting has been conducted we factor in everything, such as labour, materials and any possible plant or health and safety fees.
Our estimates are very clear in what has been priced and what is excluded. This eradicates possible disagreements and we like to point out what we see would be the client’s responsibility. This usually highlights where we feel the client could occur extra possible costs due to preparations needed to complete the project.
At the estimation stage a figure which is usually accurate to within 5% is given. The client should be able to assess whether our services would be required or not on whether we fit the their criteria and allocated costs.
Once the estimate is accepted in principle we would then go more in depth with the quotation reaching the final figures.
The advantages to this is that we can offer the estimates quickly so that the client is positioned much sooner to make decisions.
