Fixing Galvanised Guttering
The reason we are covering this subject is purely due to the fact so many companies have incurred so many added costs to rectify this problem which is usually added onto the snag list.
Now the thing is I’ve seen some right bodge jobs in my time when companies are trying to cure that elusive gutter leak. As I have worked with many companies in my time it really is shocking that this still happens when all that is required is good training. The worst part about it is that the superficial repairs are bound to fail in time whilst leaving the owner of the building with a potentially large repair bill prematurely.
The problem occurs when fixers use the wrong order, the wrong tools and do not consider where extra sealant is required.
Galvanised guttering usually gets used in valleys or where internal guttering is required and the importance of getting this right first time before roofing installation is paramount.
So how can you be assured that the gutters are installed correctly? Well clients should check for repairs at the joints this is especially important with valley gutters as these will permanently hold water due to being run in level.
Fitting gutters is not rocket science but it does have a format and an order in which they are tightened, and the right tools will ensure the quality and accuracy in which the gutters are put together will eliminate potential leaks.
